Collingwood Scrumptious Lunches is a not-for-profit nutrition program that has served 48,000 meals to children in Collingwood area elementary schools since 2003. When busy parents like you order our healthy, affordable lunches, delivered fresh to your child’s school any day you choose, you get a break from preparing school lunches without compromising nutrition or taste for your child. That in turn frees up your time for the more fun things in life. Every meal gives back to the community since proceeds from our sales, fund hot lunches for other children in Collingwood who would otherwise face the task of learning on an empty belly. It’s a win-win situation!
We are also looking at incorporating the 100 mile diet and organic items in our menu and ingredients list. By supporting local farmers and producers, it will help keep our local economy strong and vibrant.
Balanced nutrition is essential for childhood development. Lunch programs like Collingwood Scrumptious Lunches have been shown to improve both learning and classroom behaviour. Kids who receive a healthy mid day meal are more likely to succeed when faced with the challenges of the learning environment and will be less likely to fall victim to our nation’s growing epidemic of obesity, diabetes and cardiovascular disease.
With an average of 18-20 lunch orders per school, per day, we will resume operations in the New Year with meal costs of $4.45. Our tasty, kid-friendly lunch menu meets nutrition requirements mandated by the school board. To assist us in keeping our costs down and planning operations for 2012, please take a moment to register for the New Year by following these three easy steps:
Step # 1 Compose an email addressed to collingwoodscrumptiouslunches@gmail.com
Step # 2 Copy and paste the following into the email body:
The total number of lunches I plan to order PER WEEK is [insert number here]
Step #3 Hit ‘Send’ and you’re done!

Please consider Sponsoring A Child(ren) In Need:
Every child needs healthy and nutritious meals, yet there are so many children who arrive at school without lunch or even a snack. There is a tremendous need to provide lunches to these children and we seek your assistance in facilitating this by means of providing a healthy & hot meal to as many as we possibly can. Yet, we still need your help to do this - with your contributions, our goal is to be able to provide this each and every day to the community's elementary school children.
School principals and staff confidentially identify these students and our mandate is to encourage community support help us to provide healthy meals for them!
Why not participate in our lunch donor program? As we are a Not-for-Profit organization, you can offer to sponsor children who otherwise attend school daily without lunch. If your busy daily schedule is too hectic to participate in our volunteer program, perhaps you would care to assist financially in this manner? We & "our kids" will be "scrumptiously" grateful!
We are constantly seeking sponsored/donated funds from the community in order to expand and promote our nutritious luncheon program throughout the Simcoe County and ultimately beyond. We currently serve the following six Elementary Schools:
Admiral Collingwood Elementary; Cameron St. Public; Connaught Public; Mountain View Elementary; Nottawa Elementary and St. Mary's Catholic. With additional sponsors & volunteers, we envision this luncheon program to expand and grow across the County of Simcoe.

The Rotary Club of Collingwood has donated $5000 to Collingwood Scrumptious Lunches in support of our efforts to provide sponsored meals to children in need.
This generous donation will provide a daily nutritious meal for 8 local children.
